Grammar
exercises
A set of interactive grammar exercises for course HF ENG 111, the grammar
component, is currently under development. The exercises, which are intended
to be a supplement to the work done in the group sessions, will primarily
be devoted to phrase and clause analysis, but other types of exercise may
follow in due course. What you find on these pages will be in a state of
constant flux throughout the year, so it may be a good idea to have at
look at exercises you did a week earlier: they may have been completely
revised since then. Your comments will, as always, be much appreciated.
As of today, only clause analysis exercises are available. Check this
page regularly for further developments.
As you work with the exercises, a certain amount of feedback will be
provided by the program. Nothing you submit will be registered in any way,
so any mistakes you make will only be known to yourself. A Help button is
available in case you can't figure out how to solve a particular exercise.
When you click it, you will be shown a complete solution to the exercise.
WARNING!!
I have just learnt that different web browsers handle these exercises differently.
If you're using Netscape Navigator v. 4 you should have no problems. With
earlier versions some details don't work quite as expected. In any case,
your browser must be able to process JavaScript. If you encounter major
technical problems, I'd be interested to know about them.
