NTNU Pipe Organ PagesThis information service, which is located in Trondheim, Norway, was started with the purpose of presenting the internationally known Johann Joachim Wagner organ at Nidaros Cathedral, Trondheim; built 1739-41, restoration completed 1995. However, a wish to present other Norwegian organs soon emerged.Organ information is added as it becomes available and adapted for presentation. Thus, the organs presented are not necessarily the most "interesting", the "best" or "typically Norwegian" organs. It has, however, been considered important to start with presenting the most famous organs of Trondheim, i.e. the organs of Nidaros Cathedral, the Church of Our Lady (Vår Frue kirke) and Ilen church. The Department of Musicology, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), hosts this information service, which is maintained by Kyrre Svarva. Comments are welcome. |
